Homework tasks are set out as clearly and helpfully as possible. If students - even with the assistance of the parents – experience difficulty understanding homework tasks then they should feel free to approach their English teacher for further explanation. The English Department sacrifice their break time every day to spend time helping students: they can be found in the classroom E1, Monday to Friday during morning break. Even if a specific teacher is busy dealing with a different problem there are other teachers available to help. It is important that it is the student who does this, rather than a parent calling in by phone since it encourages greater autonomy in students and, ultimately, it is the student who needs to understand and complete the work.
